Subject: Public MAC address range
Im developing a custom protocol using some raw Ethernet devices and Linux.
I am aware of public IP ranges (e.g. 198.168.0.0/24).
Is there similar ranges for MAC addresses? Ive googled and I cant
find any info. The first three octets are supposed to be assigned by
manufacturer. Is there some general practice for assigning MAC
addresses when you dont have manufacturer codes?
